Do you have a passion for Horticulture with experience leading a small team?

The Grounds Department is a four-season operation dedicated to maintaining the highest levels of presentation and safety across all BMR properties.

The Supervisor (in conjunction with the assistant manager) is responsible for property maintenance, landscape maintenance projects, snow removal, roads & parking maintenance and waste management duties of the department. The Supervisor is well versed in the routine duties as well as the assigned work orders and will supervise tasks and projects to time and budget specifications.

Full-Time, Year-Round position

$22.25/hr

What Will I Be Doing?

  • Onboards and manages the performance of direct reports
  • Providing clear and concise direction and leadership for all staff during projects.
  • Assist assistant manager with completing regular audits of properties and formulating future work projects
  • Assign tasks to, provide on-going support and work alongside direct reports to complete property maintenance operations
  • Conduct training associated with the safe operation and preventative maintenance of equipment; assist the Assistant Manager in scheduling and facilitating staff training and ensures related documentation is completed.

What Do We Need From You?

  • Valid Class “G” Driver’s license and satisfactory driver’s abstract.
  • Horticultural experience and knowledge required.
  • Completion of high school or high-school equivalent (GED)
  • 3 years Landscape and/or Property Maintenance experience is mandatory. Possess a working knowledge of all staff roles and equipment in the Grounds Department.
  • Must be willing to keep up-to-date with the industry by attending upgrade courses, keeping in-line with trends etc.
  • Courses in landscaping and/or horticulture an asset
  • Previous supervisory experience is required
  • Must show competency with using the basic Microsoft Office suite of products ( Word, Excel, MS Outlook) as well as the Internet
  • Experience in light and medium sized equipment operation is required.
