Training Administrator

Locations: Churchill Falls
Reporting to the Team Lead, Employee Development, the Training Administrator will be part of the Employee Development team, supporting training delivery to employees across NL Hydro. While primary accountability will be their reporting region (Churchill Falls), the Training Administrator will support training initiatives in all areas of the company and will travel across the system to various locations as required.
The Training Administrator will plan, coordinate, and conduct on-site employee training. They will assist in the development of internal training programs ensuring they meet operational needs. They will be responsible for the development, execution and overall management of an annual training plan and will support budget management. The Training Administrator will be responsible for consulting with business unit managers and supervisors to identify, plan, and schedule internal and external training; they will work to coordinate and mobilize resources as necessary to ensure timely delivery of required training. When external training is required, the Training Administrator will support operations to identify trainers, obtain quotes, mobilize required on-site resources, and support visiting trainers. They will be accountable for the Learning Management System and provide guidance to personnel on training policies, standards, programs, etc.
The Training Administrator will ensure that the required programs and procedures are in place to meeting legislative and internal training standards. . They will support the development and implementation of programs and apprenticeship support.
The Training Administrator will be responsible for conducting on-site training, which may include but not limited to:
- Defensive Driving Training
- Power Line Hazards Training
- Incident Investigation Training
- Fall Protection Training
- Confined Space Training
- Aerial Lift Training
Qualifications:
- Successful Completion of a relevant post-secondary degree or diploma; or a combination of education and experience in a skilled trade, a training role, or as an educator;
- The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years’ experience in the coordination and/or delivery of training;
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills are required;
- Proficiency with Excel, database management, and Learning Management Systems is required;
- Knowledge of OHS training requirements would be an asset;
- A Class Five (5) Driver’s License is required;
- Travel is required to various Hydro locations across Newfoundland Labrador.
