Status: Part Time

Location: Richmond Hill, ON (Leslie and Major Mackenzie)

Pay Rate: $31.00/hr

Shift: Saturday and Sunday 0700-1500hrs

The Control Room Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the control centre, security technology and ensuring everything runs smoothly on computer systems, ensuring logs and records are accurate, troubleshoot security and IT related issues, provides direction to security staff and ensuring posts are covered.

  • Monitors cameras and the security system in the Security Operations Center (SOC).
  • Serves as a weather watcher and monitors local information for their immediate area and alerts decision-makers to the potential impact of impending weather-related hazards.
  • Processes visitors by utilizing the DCAT Security Dashboard. During periods of high-volume processing, the CRS may utilize on-shift responder(s) to facilitate the check-in process if SOP-directed security functions aren’t impacted.
  • Maintains the logs and records as outlined within this SOP.
  • CRS records completed welfare checks in the Desk Journal, under the observation information section.
  • Resolves severity events on the assigned shift and serves as Incident Commander during the absence of the SSM or STM.
  • Recommends discipline of assigned security guards to the SSM or STM.
  • Ensures that shift personnel meet the proper uniform and personal appearance standards.
  • Escalates personnel and payroll issues that can’t be fixed at his or her level.
  • Identifies security shortfalls and offers suggestions for improving the security program.
  • Verifies accuracy of entries, including time stamps and signatures on all documents completed by security guards on their shifts.
  • Reviews the Paperless Patrol Checklist, reports, journals, and logs written on their shift. Verifies accuracy of entries completed by security guards on their shifts.
  • Briefs the incoming shift on incidents that took place on his or her shift and incidents that are continuing into the following shift.
  • Ensure that all scheduled posts during their shift are filled.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the AO, STM or SSM.
  • Requirements:

  • Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certificate approved by the WSIB
  • 4 years of security control room experience or 5 years of security supervisor experience
  • Tech savvy with the ability to troubleshoot various security equipment and computer issues.
  • Must be able to meet the requirements for a Reliability Clearance through the Government of Canada.
  • Solid operational knowledge and the ability to react to any and all issues on site with haste.
