Live out caregiver for teenagers

Job Title: Live-Out Nanny
Location: Kamloops

Job Type: Full-Time

About Us:
We are a family of 4 seeking a responsible and nurturing live-out nanny to care for our teenaged children (13 year old with ASD and 18 year old using substances) and manage household tasks. We value a positive and engaging environment and are looking for someone who shares our commitment to our children’s growth and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

Childcare:
– Provide attentive and caring supervision for 2 children.
– Engage children in fun activities, both indoors and outdoors.

Pet care:
– Feed, walk, and care for animals (cat and dog)

Transportation:
– Safely transport children to and from school and extracurricular activities.
– Ensure timely arrival for scheduled events.

Meal Preparation:
– Plan and prepare nutritious meals and snacks for household
– Involve children in age-appropriate cooking activities.

Household Management:
– Perform housekeeping duties, including vacuuming, mopping, deep cleans and doing laundry.
– Maintain a clean and safe environment,

Occasional Live In Support:
– Provide overnight care on occasion, ensuring children feel comfortable and secure- primarily on weekends.

Communication:
– Maintain open communication with parents regarding children’s activities, progress, and any concerns.

Qualifications:

– Previous experience as a nanny or in childcare is preferred.
– Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
– First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
– Cultural competency to work with Indigenous youth
– Ability to pass CRC and Caregiver screenings.
– Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask.
– Strong communication skills and a nurturing personality.
– Flexibility in scheduling, including occasional evenings or weekends for sleepovers.
