Job Summary: Dutton Farms is seeking a skilled, hardworking, and reliable Farmhand to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for various field operations, equipment maintenance, and supporting the day-to-day operations of a grain farm. This position offers hands-on, team-oriented experience in the agriculture industry.

Duties and Responsibilities:

– Field Operations: Operate and maintain a range of machinery, including tractors, sprayers, swathers, combines, and semi-trucks, to support planting, maintenance, and harvest.
Equipment Maintenance and Repair: Regularly inspect, preventatively maintain, and repair equipment to ensure reliable performance during critical seasons.
– Team Collaboration: Foster positive relationships with colleagues, contributing to a respectful, efficient, and team-oriented work environment.
– Seasonal Flexibility: Ability to work extended hours during peak planting and harvesting times to meet production goals.
– General Farm Duties: Assist with other on-farm activities as needed, including manual labour, field preparation, and general property maintenance.
– Other Duties as Assigned: Be adaptable and prepared to handle additional tasks as they arise, supporting the farm’s overall productivity and success.

Requirements:

– Valid Class 1A License: Required for operating specific heavy machinery and hauling loads.
– Previous Farm Experience: Minimum of one year in a similar role, with hands-on experience in machinery operation.
– Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to perform maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.
– Reliable Transportation: Necessary for travel to and from the farm.
– Work Ethic: Strong commitment to long hours and a readiness to work in various weather conditions during peak seasons.
