On Call Snow removal crew members – work when it snows

We are looking for folks who are looking for casual work this winter to join our snow removal crew list – please read full ad for info before responding.

Work only after snowfalls – can either be on payroll (biweekly pay) or be paid as a subcontractor (hourly rate x hours worked paid by etransfer end of the week weekly) – lots of our casual crew use the funds to supplement their EI during the winter – let us know your preference – $20-22/hour depending on experience.

Operate blowers, sweepers, snow throwers and use shovels for sidewalk/driveway clearing.

Preference for candidates someone with their own vehicle as we have limited seats in the crew trucks. We have a group of sites in the SW (SW crew) Braeside/Woodbine area which all sites are within 5km of each other and a North group of sites that requires more driving (mileage is reimbursed for this North crew) with sites in Dover, Renfrew, Evanston and Mount Royal area.

All candidates must be reliable, have an excellent work ethic, and be willing to work in all kinds of weather. Looking for people who are available for the entire snow season.

Must be willing to work weekends on call, any day of the week, daytime hours but starting generally at 7am (sometimes later if we are waiting for the snow to stop but generally no later start then 10am).

Compliance with quality and safety standards and have appropriate work gear and safety gear (winter boots required).

Have consistent and reliable transportation – many of our sites are not easily accessible via public transit.
