Position Overview:
Are you looking to be part of a growing and developing team in an organization that values its people, customers, work, and supply chain? If so, APEX is accepting applications for an Inspection Supervisor in its Aerospace Component Manufacturing Group.
This is a full-time, permanent position reporting to the Operations Manager. The primary role of this position is to direct and coordinate all the activities of the Inspection department staff, plan the flow of parts to maximize resources, ensure continuous improvements of existing and future production initiatives, and enhance customer quality in conjunction with improved profitability.
The Inspection Supervisor will also ensure that the established performance standards, procedures, and audit controls are adhered to, as well as identify and implement process improvements to increase the efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of company operations.
Some overtime may be required, and training will be provided.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the Inspection personnel and maintain inspection schedule(s).
- Provide leadership, developing and directing inspection and quality improvement initiatives for all company products and services.
- Oversee & maintain inspection processes.
- Support continuous improvements including new product initiatives.
- Assists other Supervisors with the resolution of problems.
- Train, direct, coach, develop and motivate staff to achieve goals.
- Communicate & coordinate activities with other team members.
- As necessary to maintain the production schedule the Supervisor may be required to perform various day-to-day inspection duties not excluding the running of inspection equipment.
- Maintain an organized and safe work area, assuring staff compliance with Health and Safety Protocols.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
- Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
- Must possess excellent communication skills for liaising and communicating with, customers, staff, and vendors.
- Must be cooperative, willing to share knowledge, mentor others and take on additional responsibilities as required.
- Highly motivated and self-directed, capable of multi-tasking, and able to work with minimal supervision.
- A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
- Ability to build and maintain lasting relationships with other departments, key business partners, and government agencies.
- Extremely detail-oriented and analytical thinker
- Able to interface directly with cross-functional teams.
- Computer literate
- Be or become familiar with AS 9100 and NADCAP programs.
- Able to comprehend and effectively carry out oral and written instructions.
- Ability to read, and interpret technical information (i.e. drawings, specifications)
- Have experience with QA systems, regulations, guidelines, and associated standards.
- Demonstrates effective decision-making and product knowledge.
- Promotes good morale and productivity.
Assets:
- Auditing experience.
- Quality/Inspection experience including quality software.
- CNC Machinist, Mechanical Engineering Technologist or relevant experience in manufacturing.
- Experience using Syspro ERP system.
- CAD/CAM experience.
- Experience with GD&T.
