Versatile Technicians: We offer various roles depending on your interests, but we encourage everyone to be proficient in as many areas as possible. Duties include:
– Lawn Maintenance – Mowing, trimming, edging, and fertilizing lawns.
– Gardening – Planting, weeding, mulching, and maintaining garden beds.
– Tree and Shrub Care – Pruning, trimming, and maintaining hedges and ornamental trees.
– Irrigation System Maintenance – Installing, repairing, and adjusting irrigation systems.
– Landscape Construction – Assisting with the installation of patios, walkways, retaining walls, and other landscaping structures.
– Soil Preparation – Tilling, grading, and amending soil for planting.
– Equipment Operation – Using lawn mowers, trimmers, blowers, and other landscaping tools.
– Pest and Disease Control – Applying treatments to control pests or diseases affecting plants.
– Site Clean-up – Removing debris, sweeping, and ensuring the job site is clean and safe.
– Client Interaction – Engaging with homeowners, answering questions, and addressing their landscaping concerns.
– Loading and Unloading Materials – Handling soil, mulch, plants, and other materials for landscape projects.
– General Maintenance – Maintaining equipment, tools, and vehicles in good working order.
Sponsorship & Education Opportunities: Thrive is ready to sponsor your apprenticeship, helping you accumulate hours toward your Landscape Horticulturist certification. We also support certifications through ISA (International Society of Arborists) and iiabc (Irrigation Industry Association of British Columbia).
Competitive Wages & Benefits:
$22-28/hr based on experience & qualifications
$0.45/hour extra for current OFA L1 certification
Regular pay increases for further training and experience
Inflation-indexed wages annually

Top-Notch Environmentally Responsible Equipment and Vehicles: We provide the best, most up-to-date equipment to ensure you have what you need to complete your projects efficiently. Our new landscaping trucks are easy to drive, require no special license, and come with air conditioning. Plus, they look great!
Paperless Workflow: Thrive uses software apps to keep operations smooth and efficient. You’ll need a smartphone with a data connection, and because it’s a requirement, we’ll provide the documentation needed to write off some of your cell phone expenses!
