Are you passionate about workplace safety and ready to help keep our team safe as we grow? Were looking for a dedicated Safety Officer to oversee and enhance our safety program. As our company expands, youll play a key role in ensuring the well-being of our workers both in the field and in the office.
What Youll Do:
This role balances both fieldwork and office responsibilities. Youll be the key resource for field safety, working closely with our workers to ensure that all safety practices are followed and improved upon as needed.
What Were Looking For:
Certification: NCSO
Experience: Proven experience with safety protocols in electrical and utility construction, especially in environments with heavy equipment like excavators and backhoes.
Knowledge: A solid understanding of WCB.
Leadership: Strong leadership skills with excellent communication, both written and verbal.
Key Responsibilities:
-Oversee field safety expectations, conduct investigations, and provide training to maintain a strong safety culture.
-Collaborate with field laborers to ensure all Safe Work Practices (SWP) and Safe Job Procedures (SJP) are in place for utility construction.
– Be the point of contact for any safety-related concerns, incidents, or emergencies.
– Ensure proper documentation and compliance for COR certification and audits.
– Oversee safety-related policies, subcontractor compliance, and cost management for safety training and equipment.
