This position will include Shift Work.

Oxford Food Group has an opportunities for a Shunt Truck Driver, located in Oxford, NS. The position reports to the Warehouse Supervisor.

Responsibilities:

  • A pre-operational check of the shunt truck
  • Shunting trailers for production between plant 1 and plant 2. This is your main priority and must be done before any other duties
  • Communication between Shunt Driver and Line Supervisor is essential to prevent production down time
  • Shunting trailers for all shipping ramps; Appetizers, Inventory, and Fresh season applications

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED Certificate is a requirement.
  • Previous experience operating a transfer truck
  • Minimum Class 5 Drivers License is a requirement, higher classification driver’s license will be considered an asset
  • WHMIS certification would be considered an asset
  • Proficiency in using computers would be considered an asset

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Sense of urgency
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team

  • Correctly divert waste to support Zero Waste initiatives
  • React to green wastes (wasted energy and water, air leaks, product leaks etc.) by submitting work orders for immediate repair
