Metal Polisher, Grinder/ fabricator

Our Client is seeking a individual with prior experience in Metal Manufacturing to join our fast paced and skills-oriented team. The General Laborer-Grinder/Polisher is responsible for grinding, sanding, buffing, cleaning and polishing a variety of flat and formed metal products. The ideal candidate will have prior, hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing shopfloor environment, be familiar with different material types (specifically stainless steel) and has a basic understanding of abrasives required for specific operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Performing General Laborer duties.
Follow all procedures for machine specific work instruction.
Responsible for grinding burrs on parts and tanks.
Responsible in packaging finished product.
Must be able to use hand tools and power tools appropriately and safely.
Must be able to complete inspections, and provide documentation as required.
Must perform daily safety checks and maintain equipment in good working order.
Must be able to use a stationary grinding machine safely.
Must keep areas of operation clean and orderly and adhere to all established safety standards.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Follows York Metal Products’ Health & Safety Policy, including but not limited to wearing PPE at all times.
Skills & Qualifications:

Must have metal polishing experience with a variety of types of materials, specifically stainless steel.
Must be able to properly handle materials or parts safely.
Must have a solid understanding of abrasives and pads in order to ensure proper surface finish.
Must have manufacturing experience.
Ability to work within a team as well as autonomously.
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

Fast Paced manufacturing shop floor environment involves frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and balancing.
Process is repetitive in nature and involves postures including forward reaching, tight gripping, and some squatting.
Can lift up to 50 pounds.
Schedule:

A Shift: 7:00AM – 3:30PM
