Penalty Box Pub – Cook

Are you and experienced Cook who also enjoys sports? Buckingham Sports Penalty Box Pub restaurant in London Ontario, is a full service restaurant inside of a hockey rink.

Must be available to work all restaurant operating hours (evenings/weekends/holidays). Some experience in a retail/commercial kitchen required. Food Handlers Certification is desirable.

Cook
Reporting to the Kitchen Manager, the cook is responsible for preparing a variety of food on the grill and other kitchen equipment as required, excels at working in a fast-paced, collaborative team setting, has a strong work ethic, is highly organized, takes pride in preparing and presenting delicious food, maintains and exceeds the company’s standards of quality and service, and assumes 100% responsibility for guest satisfaction with the quality of food served.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Job Summary:
• Prep and cook high quality food as per menu.
• Set up food station and prep ingredients prior to restaurant opening.
• Prepare high quality food with consistency, as per the standardized menu and recipe.
• Assist with opening and closing procedure.
• Practice proper safe food handling and sanitation. Adhere to all health and safety procedure.
• Assist with dishes, cleaning the overall kitchen, deep fryer, counter tops, fridges and garbage.

Other:
• Previous culinary/restaurant experience is an asset.
• Good communication skills and able to communicate in English is a must.
• Valid Safe Food Handling/ProServe Certificate an asset
• Must be physically fit for the job.
• The desire to serve the sports community is a bonus.
