Our client in the hydropower industry is seeking a Millwright to join their team in Kitimat, BC. This unionized role will be a 6 month on-site position, with possibility of extension at the end of the period. The role offers transportation costs covered, housing, and has overtime available.
 
Job Title: Millwright
Location: Kitimat, B.C. (transportation and housing covered)
Pay Range: $41.31 to $46.47/hour plus overtime

What’s the Job?

  • Maintaining and repairing critical equipment across three buildings.
  • Ensuring the efficient operation of these facilities through preventative maintenance and addressing breakdowns.
  • Attend a daily 6:30 AM LEAN meeting to review the day’s tasks and maintenance plans.
  • Perform regular preventative maintenance on equipment, ensuring safety and reliability.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and perform repairs as directed by supervision.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot equipment including, but not limited to, overhead cranes, welding machines, overhead doors, vacuums, and equibras machines.
  • Work collaboratively with supervision and other team members to prioritize and complete tasks.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and positive work environment by adhering to company safety protocols and standards.
     

What’s Needed?

  • Interprovincial Red Seal Millwright is preferred, but apprentices are welcome to apply as well.
  • Familiarity with preventative maintenance planning and execution.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to maintaining a positive, safety-first work environment.
  • Commitment to living in Terrace/Kitimat, BC for 6 months (housing provided, can come and go when off-duty)
  • Shifts are Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM; over-time is available, depending on seniority.
  • Dry camp, no alcohol is permitted at housing establishments.
