Position Overview:

Are you looking to be part of a growing and developing team in an organization that values its people, customers, work, and supply chain? If so, APEX is currently accepting applications for a Day Shift Supervisor within its Steel Door Manufacturing Group.

This is a full-time, permanent position reporting to the Group Manager. The primary role of this position is to direct and coordinate the day-to-day production operations of the Steel Door Manufacturing Group at Apex Industries Inc. by planning, organizing, and overseeing all production aspects of the group.

The role also includes manufacturing management, quality assurance, material handling, inventory, health and safety, and human resources management. The Day Shift Supervisor will ensure that the operation provides manufactured products in a timely fashion at consistent, specified levels of quality and at a total cost capable of providing competitive leverage.

Overtime may be required, and training will be provided.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitors and directs daily operations to ensure that policies and procedures are being followed, that goals and objectives are met, and that services are being provided efficiently and effectively; takes corrective action as necessary.
  • Develops, implements, and administers systems and procedures for the control of overheads, paperwork, and workflow.
  • Provides for the selection, training, professional development and work evaluation of direct reports.
  • Makes recommendations on hiring, termination, promotion, discipline as required and motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.
  • Plan and schedule work to meet customer delivery dates, vacation schedules for the group ensuring proper distribution of assignments and adequate staffing, space and facilities for the subsequent performance of duties.

  • Knowledge and experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership.
  • Ability to execute projects with minimal supervision.
  • Able to work in fast paced environment with multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
