PART TIME PSW

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Personal Support Worker (PSW) to provide dedicated care to an 83-year-old man with Alzheimer’s. The ideal candidate will offer daily support to enhance the quality of life for the patient, ensuring his safety, comfort, and well-being in his home environment.

Responsibilities:

Provide personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting assistance
Assist with medication reminders and administration as directed
Support with daily living activities, including meal preparation, feeding, and light housekeeping
Engage in activities to stimulate mental and physical well-being, including memory exercises
Monitor health and report any changes or concerns to family members
Offer companionship and emotional support, maintaining a positive and patient-centered approach
Help with mobility assistance, including transfers from bed to chair, walking, and ROM exercises
Ensure a safe environment, minimizing the risk of accidents
Requirements:

Certification as a Personal Support Worker (PSW) or equivalent
Previous experience caring for elderly patients with Alzheimer’s or dementia
Understanding of Alzheimer’s disease and its progression
Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills
Physical ability to assist with mobility and personal care tasks
First Aid and CPR certification (preferred)
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if necessary)
Part time position, competitive pay, based on experience
