Position Overview As an Groundperson with Asplundh Canada ULC you will begin to gain exposure on all aspects of the role as a Certified Utility Tree Trimmer/Tree Worker. You will spend your day in the field supporting the UTT/UTW all while ensuring a clean, safe, and organized site. In time Asplundh Canada ULC would look to support the Groundperson in becoming a Certified Utility Tree Trimmer or a Certified Utility Tree Worker Job Duties • Control lowering ropes. • Supply tools for tree workers aloft. • Control road and sidewalk traffic as needed by use of warning devices. • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance inspections on equipment. • Cut, chip and load brush and wood. • Complete proper job site cleanup. • Assist other crew members in performing job duties. • Abide by Asplundh Canada ULC and industry safety policies and procedures. Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent preferred. • Valid provincial driver’s license. Licensed to drive a 5-ton vehicle and air brake endorsement considered an asset. • Willingness to work towards becoming a certified UTT/UTW. • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. • Ability to work safely as part of a team and possess the willingness to learn and progress. Additional Information • Starting Wage-$ 20.00 per hour • Wage will increase to $ 21.00 after the 90-day probation period has been completed successfully. • Full time.
