Process Control Engineer to provide on-going support for mixed mode (batch and continuous) Tire decomposition manufacturing operation at the Ecolomondo Hawkesbury, Ontario, Canada site. This is an on-site position supporting our Thermal Decomposition Process (TDP), Tire Shredding and Recovered Carbon Black operations. Successful candidates will have experience in interacting with Operations, Maintenance and Engineering teams to utilize control system technologies to improve site operations and process safety. This individual must be familiar with process instruments, control valves, three phase 600V motor control and safety interlock systems to be able to support new installations to upgrade Process Safety or increase the level of Automation at the site. The Process Engineer is responsible for the design, installation, maintenance and support of the process control in the batch chemical manufacturing facility.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of direct experience in industrial Chemical Plant Operations (broad based experience interacting with production, engineering and maintenance and operation personnel)
• Chemical Plant experience should be in facility operated to world class standards in the areas of Process Safety; Digital Instrumentation & Control; Safety, Health and Environment standards as they pertain to maintenance work and use of contractors
• Candidates must show knowledge and experience directly in process control systems in a batch and/or continuous environment. Also, the design, configuration, testing, start- up, troubleshooting and ongoing maintenance of digital instrumentation systems and safety interlock systems
• Four-year relevant Engineering degree; Chemical or Electrical disciplines preferred and is registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with Professional Engineers Ontario is a preference
• Candidates should have a demonstrated ability to work with necessary hardware and software systems to support unit operation and interact with vendors / contractors for full development of the system and ensure proper installation
• Candidates should also have a demonstrated understanding of the requirements for electrical systems compliant with Section 18 of the Canada Electrical Code (installations in Hazardous Areas) and ISA S88 Batch Process Control Standard
• The engineer should have knowledge of communication system platforms
• The engineer must be familiar with three phase AC motors and industrial motor controls including Variable Frequency Drives
• The engineer must have a demonstrated history in the execution of projects requiring new or replacement control systems, process instrumentation, human machine interfaces, and process data networks
• The engineer must have strong verbal and technical writing skills to interact with the Operations department to convey changes to the control system and complete the associated management of change and training documents for assigned project work
$35.00 to 45.00 hourly (To be negotiated) / 37.5 to 42 hours per week
