Backyard Escape Studios is a fast-growing company that creates modern garden sheds and all-season studios for clients across Ontario. We are a small business in need of a general labourer for a mixed position at our shop here in St.Thomas/Fingal and on our install team which travels across Ontario.

As a Crew Lead Installer , you will provide leadership and direction to the installation crew as well as work beside them. We are looking for someone with integrity, customer service and a strong work ethic. Construction/and or woodworking experience is required, and an eagerness to learn will be necessary to get up to speed with our pre-fabrication process.

Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to lift heavy objects are essential for success in this position.

Job Duties:

Provide leadership to installation crews and supervise performance

Communicate with customers on site, reviewing product details and answering customer questions

Framing/sheathing structures according to technical drawings

Using power tools, mitre saws, and tables saws to prefabricate various shed and studio components

Staining/painting wood siding, outriggers and doors

Loading/unloading trailers

Constructing prefabricated sheds and studios on site

Requirements:

Experience with power tools and manual labour

Effective verbal and listening skills

Commitment to quality and safety

Valid G License (required)

Ability to work independently but also lead a team

Ability to lift heavy objects up to 100lbs assisted, stand and walk for long periods, work up to 12 hour days when required

Forklift experience is an asset

The ability to drive a truck with a trailer is required

Work Conditions:

Safety boots must be worn

Appropriate dust masks/ safety glasses must be worn for certain tasks

You will be required to safely operate a variety of hand and power tools

Repeatedly lifting of heavy objects

Stamina is required for some long, physically demanding days

Compensation:

Pay starts from $22.00 – 26.00 Depending on Experience. Reliability, positive attitude, and eagerness to learn will be rewarded.

Shop days: 8:00am – 4:30pm

Installs: depending on location and project type with start times between 5:00am and 7:00am and end times between 3:00pm and 7:00pm

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00-$26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 per week
