Potato Farm Hand/ Mechanic

Role: Currently seeking individual to work closely with Norbest Farms to grow seed potatoes around Fort Saskatchewan Alberta (15min outside of Edmonton, AB). Potato experience or related experience is a requirement/ asset.
Responsibilities: Repair automobiles, truck, tractors, and other farm equipment. Perform routine maintenance on field equipment. Operate farm equipment during seeding and harvest. Assist with irrigation in the summer.
Qualifications: Previous experience on a farm. Knowledge of shop equipment (Ex: welder, torch, etc.) Ability to operate equipment (Ex: forklift, skidsteer, etc.) Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Should be detailed oriented and have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Duties: Duties will include working with potato planters and potato diggers. Need to help with irrigation throughout the summer. Should be able to help direct seasonal employees. Mechanical experience is a must as we maintain & repair on the equipment throughout the winter to get it ready for the next season. On the farm we all work collaboratively as a team to grow the crop.
Hours: Full time, Hours vary through the season, Monday- Saturday. We do not work Sundays.
