Electrician

Nortera is currently looking for a highly motivated, energetic team member to join our Maintenance Department as a Full-time Electrician. Reporting to the Maintenance Lead, you will benefit from the skills and knowledge of an experienced maintenance team who are committed to continuous improvement. The successful incumbent will perform predictive and corrective maintenance on facility assets and complete scheduled preventative maintenance, to ensure the highest degree of reliability in a safe and cost effective manner. This position requires rotational shift work and weekends.

• Demonstrate an absolute commitment to safety.
• Perform time critical repairs on packaging and production equipment.
• Assist engineering and maintenance with projects and equipment upgrades.
• Maintain, repair, upgrade, install and test electrical controls and equipment.
• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications.
• Maintains record of work performed on a daily log sheet and preventative maintenance documents.
• Ensure all Health and Safety regulations are followed as per regulations.
• Follow directions from the Maintenance Lead and Manager.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an industrial environment.
• Journeyman Electrician Certification (442A or 309A).
• Food processing background is considered an asset.
• PLC Programming and troubleshooting skills – would be an asset.
• Ability to read, interpret, and appropriately apply diagrams, OEM manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Experience installing and maintaining power distribution systems, automation systems, lighting, and
building wiring.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
• Flexible work schedule to work 12-hour continental shift rotation and open to on-call shifts including
overtime.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.

• Must meet minimum dexterity requirements of this position: bending, twisting, reaching, lifting,
crouching, kneeling, standing, walking, sitting, etc.
• Hourly wage rate is $40.32 – $42.54/Hour (Depending on prior experience and qualifications).
