With business booming, they’re looking to add a Structural Engineer or Technologist to their team in Sussex, NB.
Role Description
As a Structural Engineer or Technologist, you will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to designing and delivering innovative residential homes. You will collaborate with industry leaders to bring customers’ visions to life, applying cutting-edge concepts to their projects. Your role will involve ensuring homes meet and exceed building codes while maintaining detailed product records.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing, designing, and reviewing structural aspects of home projects
- Preparing beam, foundation, and load calculations
- Preparing and reviewing engineered joist and truss designs
- Specifying and preparing connection details as required
- Providing engineering support for site projects & factory operations (factory modifications, new equipment, etc.)
- Conducting code analysis for special projects
- Performing occasional site visits
- Researching and developing new product opportunities
Your Qualifications
As a Structural Engineer or Technologist, you have a great wealth of knowledge of the residential or commercial construction industry. You have demonstrated abilities with CAD systems, such as AutoCAD, Revit, and other BIM software, and are able to conceptualize ideas and put them into effective designs that bring a client’s vision to life.
Your qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or diploma in Civil, Structural, or Building Engineering Technology
- P.Eng designation is an asset
- 5 years of relevant experience; modular/factory building experience is an asset but not required
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Mitek, WoodWorks, or other design and engineering software
- Strong knowledge of building codes for residential, multi-residential, and commercial buildings
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively
- Strong time-management, planning, and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment with minimal supervision
- Familiarity with 3D modeling and CNC output is an asset
