Due to increased growth, we are seeking multiple experienced (Commission Only) Independent Equipment Auction Consignment Representatives to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, an understanding of heavy machinery and equipment within the construction, oil and gas, agriculture and mining industries, and experience in managing online auction consignments.

You will source new business opportunities for our weekly (online only) equipment auctions through a combination of networking, cold calling, social media outreach, advertising, participating in shows, events and associations. We mostly target businesses and government municipalities, not individuals of the general public.

Please note, this is a fully independent opportunity that is commission based only. You will be responsible for all your own expenses including travel, lodging and meals when you travel to meet or list equipment for these auctions.

Commissions are paid out after each piece is sold through the auction.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Management:
o Identify and pursue new sales opportunities within the heavy machinery and equipment sectors.

o Build and maintain relationships with sellers to ensure repeat business.

o Provide excellent customer service throughout the sales process.

Consignment Management:
o Source and secure equipment consignments for our weekly online unreserved auctions from businesses, dealers and government municipalities.

o Evaluate equipment to determine market value.

o Negotiate consignment terms and agreements with sellers.

Qualifications:
Must be fully independent, this is not an employee role.
Must have means of travel and be capable to fund your own travel expenses when meeting clients or listing equipment for auction.
Proven experience in sales, preferably in the heavy machinery, construction/farming equipment sectors.
Strong understanding of the auction process and consignment sales.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to evaluate and appraise equipment accurately.
Proficient in using online auction platforms and sales management software.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Work Location: Home office based with regional travel.

This position would also work well for retirees who want to stay active in the sales business, but want to manage their own schedule.

Interviews can be conducted in person within Calgary to Edmonton, or through Zoom.

We currently sell through a US online auction site AuctionTime.com, and broker wholesale units through online equipment marketplaces such as MarketBook.ca, MachineryTrader.com, TruckPaper.com and Machinio.com to name a few.
