Heavy Equipment Operator

Labourers
Eddie’s Gravel Supply Ltd. is a residential and commercial Civil construction company located in Winnipeg Beach, Manitoba. We are currently looking for experienced concrete and asphalt labourers/finishers.
Labourers will report to site supervisors and are responsible for supporting site activities in the delivery of multiple projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Spreading materials such as asphalt, gravel and other various aggregate with a machine or by hand tools
Assisting and securing attachments to equipment
Removing rubble and other debris at construction sites using rakes, shovels, wheel barrows as well as
heavy equipment
Directing traffic at or near construction sites
Assist fellow equipment operators and other skilled labor when necessary.
Prep construction sites
Load or unload construction materials and moving them to work areas
Remove, fill, or compact earth.
Perform basic maintenance on heavy equipment such as oil changes, track replacements, hydraulic line
replacements/repairs.
Daily pre/post trips on vehicles and equipment
Daily servicing (greasing, fueling),and cleaning of equipment
Loading trucks with aggregates,
Follow instructions from supervisors.
Ready to learn from on-the-job training when necessary.
Perform site clean-up.
Variety of manual labour tasks
Snow clearing through winter months
Ability to level gravels and cut grade in a variety of equipment such as graders, hydraulic excavators, skid
steers, dozers, and front end loaders
Other related duties a required.
Must be able to take leadership roles in guiding new staff and trainees to succeed.

To Be Successful, You Will Need
Own transportation
Be mechanically inclined
Reliable cell phone
Valid Class 3 driver’s license and ability to operate a manual transmission
Knowledge of the construction industry an asset
Some road building construction experience preferred
Ability to work as a part of a team and independently with minimal supervision
Reliable
Strong work ethic
Ability to work in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines
Ability to work in all weather conditions and be fully prepared for Manitoba weather daily
Overtime work as required
Able to perform repetitive tasks
Able to perform physically demanding tasks. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
Positive attitude and the ability to work well with others.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Seasonal
Starting wage: $21.00-$28.00 per hour pending experience
Additional pay: Overtime pay
Benefits: Dental care, Extended health care, Performance based RRSP Bonus program applicable after 12 months
Schedule: 10-12 hour shift, Monday to Friday, Weekends as needed
Occasional out of town work
Ability to commute/relocate: Winnipeg Beach, MB: reliably commute daily or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
