About the Opportunity
Palaris is looking for a full-time, remote General Manager, Americas based in Vancouver, B.C. or Toronto, ON.
As the successful candidate, you will lead Palaris’ expansion in North America, leveraging our established business systems and aiming to double our headcount every year in the first three years. Your role will involve driving business growth by cultivating new client relationships and strengthening existing ones, all while collaborating with global teams to ensure cohesive and successful operations. You will be tasked with broadening Palaris’ presence in the region, overseeing a diverse portfolio of projects, and contributing to strategic decision-making in a senior leadership capacity.
Your leadership will require not only an extensive industry network and credibility, but also the ability to identify and capitalize on market opportunities, ensuring the successful execution of mining feasibility studies and effective portfolio management. This role provides a unique opportunity to shape the direction of the companys regional operations, offering significant exposure to a wide range of commodities, financial advisory services, and leadership in a specialized consulting environment. Flexibility and autonomy are key, as you will collaborate with global teams across various time zones to deliver exceptional mining and financial solutions.
About You
To qualify, you will need an undergraduate degree in mining engineering or geology, demonstrated leadership skills, and 10 years of relevant mining experience.
Additionally, the following skills and experience will be highly valued:
- Experience with or willingness to learn – financial modelling and decarbonisation process
- Experience with technical finance advisory: equity, debt, buy & sell
- Solid understanding of mining feasibility studies and keen insight into identifying value
- Strong project management experience with the ability to adjust to a niche consulting environment
- Business development skills that are planned and delivered with a strategic approach
Success in this role requires agility, a consistently positive attitude, and the ability to adapt swiftly to changes. You will work autonomously, manage leadership responsibilities, and demonstrate a deep understanding of mining feasibility studies with the ability to identify key value drivers. Strong portfolio management skills are essential for effectively prioritizing and focusing on multiple projects within our specialized consulting environment.
