About the Opportunity
SOAHAC is looking for a full-time Chief Executive Officer based in Chippewas of the Thames, ON.

Reporting to the SOAHAC Board of Directors, you will play a pivotal role in leading the organization, overseeing all sites, and ensuring strategic and operational success.

In this position, you will be primarily responsible for the health and performance of the organization, strategic planning, and maintaining key long-term relationships with stakeholders.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Collaborating with the board to develop strategic plans
  • Providing leadership for strategic business development
  • Managing project budgets, forecasts, and financial plans
  • Reporting to the Board of Directors on strategic and operational objectives
  • Communicating and collaborating with Senior Leadership
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with government agencies and professional organizations, including ISC and the Ministry of Health
  • Overseeing audits and ensuring effective resolution
  • Leading, supervising, and directing the Senior Leadership Team
  • Keeping the Board of Directors informed about all SOAHAC business

About You
To qualify, you will need a post-secondary level education in Health Administration, Social, or Business Studies, or an MBA, along with 5 years of business management experience within a large organization, ideally in the health and wellness industries.

The following is also required:

  • Ability to undergo criminal record and vulnerable sector checks (CPIC)
  • Valid government-issued drivers license and a clean abstract
  • Proof of auto insurance
  • Up-to-date immunizations and records
  • Experience living in and/or working in an Indigenous community or organization

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

  • Effective leadership skills with a strong focus on mentoring and motivating professionals
  • Demonstrated ability to manage key constituent relationships
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, fiscal management, business finance, and capital funding
  • Sound understanding of risk management
  • Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills
  • Experience leading and managing budgets for a large, distributed organization
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and MS Teams
