Our client in Kingston ON is looking for an experienced SolidWorks designer with the ability to produce detailed steelworks drawings for custom manufacturing

 

Job Title: SolidWorks Designer

Location: Kingston

Pay: 30/hr 

 

What’s the Job?

  • Analyze engineering drawings and specifications to determine shape and dimensions in the development of equipment, processes and products.
  • Prepare accurate design drawings for submission to external vendors.
  • Prepare drawings for internal production & electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Ability to operate SolidWorks to create 3D models and draft 2D drawings
  • Ability to draft and edit technical specifications to accompany design drawing release
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Interpersonal skills to work within a team, taking direction from the project lead.
  • Time management skills to complete error-free work within the required timeframe
  • Communication skills with an emphasis on reading and writing for creating documentation and reports
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to develop creative solutions
  • Temporary Placement for 2-3 months with the possibility of an extension

 

What’s Needed?

  • Proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD. SolidWorks certifications desired.
  • Experience designing steel fabrications, welded assemblies, sheet metal forms and material selection
  • Self-motivated and self-managed to meet project deadlines.
  • Ability to work with Microsoft Office 365 applications for planning and communications
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
