About the Opportunity

IMT Precision has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Process Technician, Manufacturing Engineering, based in Ingersoll, ON. This role involves a 2-week rotating shift pattern, which includes midnight (11:30 pm-7:30 am), morning (7:30 am – 3:30 pm), and daytime (3:30 pm – 11:30 pm) shifts.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, and supported by the Production Manager and Manufacturing Engineering team, you will primarily guide and assist shop floor setup personnel with daily duties and process documentation updates as needed.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Troubleshooting quality and processing issues on the shop floor
  • Adapting and working efficiently in a fast-paced, evolving manufacturing environment
  • Guiding and assisting setup personnel with daily duties
  • Training shop floor team members as required
  • Conducting and analyzing tool trials to enhance productivity
  • Ensuring adherence and optimum levels of established methods, tools, and processes through regular follow-ups
  • Performing additional duties as assigned

More About You

To qualify for this position, you must possess a certification in CNC Machining, Manufacturing Engineering/Technician, or a related field, or have equivalent training/experience. Additionally, you will have at least 2-3 years of manufacturing experience, ideally with CNC lathes. If you have less experience but possess relevant transferable skills and a strong drive to excel in this vital position, we still encourage you to apply.

Registration with the Controlled Goods Program is mandatory for any person examining, possessing or transferring controlled goods in Canada. To register with the Controlled Goods Program, you must have citizenship or permanent residency.

IMT employees must meet Canadian Controlled Goods Program security requirements; therefore, it is required for you to undergo a Criminal Records Check.

The following skills and experience will be strong attributes:

  • Capability to instruct and guide others through explanations and demonstrations, without the need for physical demonstration
  • Fundamental understanding of general machining practices
  • Basic knowledge of gauge designs and practices
  • Capability to specify processes for manufacturing components with guidance from senior programmers or Engineering Manager
  • Proficiency in resolving machining problems through tooling, gauging, machining, or fixturing
  • Adaptability in managing multiple tasks and projects amid frequent interruptions
  • Ability to work in environments with dirt and noise typical of manufacturing settings
  • Willingness to undertake minimal travel as required
