Early Childhood Educator

Kamloops Child Development Society

The Kamloops Child Development Centre is seeking a qualified ECE and/or ECE/IT professional to join our team. As an innovative, non-profit organization, we provide the best childcare experience. Our unique nature-based centre fosters a learn-through-play philosophy, strongly emphasizing outdoor and natural play, setting us apart from traditional childcare centres.
As a large, well-established childcare centre, we prioritize the support and growth of our team members. You will be part of a collaborative team, working in a warm and nurturing environment. We empower our ECEs to lead their classroom programming and are committed to supporting your efforts through modelling and exchanging ideas, fostering a sense of belonging and camaraderie.
No matter the weather, much of the day is spent outside. Our children love it outside, and we design our activities to encourage gross and fine motor skills and creative and imaginative play, all while exploring nature. Whether you go for a walk across the street in Macdonald Park (or beyond) or spend the afternoon in our Forest Playground, adventures await. We live by our motto: exceptional childcare – nurtured by nature.
To succeed in this position, you need:
• an ECE and first aid certificate
• a love of the outdoors
• a genuine interest in working with children
• the ability to form warm, responsive relationships with children
• a positive, friendly attitude
• initiative and capacity to work with minimal supervision
We offer a competitive salary range from $22.50 – $25.75 per hour (plus the $6.00 ECE Wage enhancement), a very healthy benefits package (including extended health and dental), Group RRSPs, and a full-time work schedule of 36 hours over a four-day week. (Yes, that’s right—you get three days off each week!) Couple all this with the great working conditions, and this is a job that you won’t want to overlook.
