Beach Master (Full time)
Paddle Pirates Pickering is looking for a full-time staff to facilitate rentals of kayaks and paddle boards at our Frenchman’s bay location. This person will ensure complete coverage of hours of operations by managing scheduling of casual staff, and working in daily operations as the main person onsite. We operate from sunrise to sunset, and occasionally night time for the glow in the dark kayak tours. You must be available for any and all time slots that are not covered by other staff.
Main Duties include:
• Managing staff schedule
• Greeting customers,
• Use booking software, and POS to take payments
• Provide safety instructions
• Setting up and cleaning kayaks
• Carry SUP & kayaks
• Answering inquiries (in person and by phone),
• Performing rescues if necessary
• Teach on water with clients if necessary
• Making small repairs, or notifying owner of repairs needed
• Take pictures of clients, get reviews
• Facilitate waivers
• Utilizing booking software and point-of-sale systems.
• Treat the business like your own!
• Keep working area clean (dock, parking lot)
Other duties
• Grass cutting with weed-wacker
• Parking lot management
Must have:
• Experience canoeing, kayaking or Stand up Paddle boarding
• Standard First Aid & CPR-C certification (or underway)
Nice to have
• Paddling certification (Paddle Canada, ORCKA, ISA, WPA)
• Lifeguard or swimming certification
• Driver’s license
• Pleasure craft operator card

The hourly wage starts at $18 depending on experience. Cash bonuses are provided from time to time.
Also looking for casual workers. If no bookings are present in the system, we open from noon to 8:30 if the weather is nice.
