Our client; Property Management Company has an opening for a permanent full-time Housing Administrator position located in downtown Toronto, Ontario.
Job Type: Full-time (35 hours/week)
Offers 2 weeks of paid vacation
Work period: Monday – Friday 9 am – 5 pm
Compensation: $38k -$43k annually
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Property Management, the Housing Administrator will be assigned to a co-operative site to provide day-to-day services to the co-operative’s members and its board of directors.
Duties will include.
– Managing the co-op’s finances
– Ensuring that the co-op meets its legal obligations
– Preparing board/AGM/GMM packages and taking minutes
– Attending Board and Committee meetings
– Maintaining full occupancy of the co-op
– Coordinate move in and out activities
– Supporting good governance in the co-op by the board and membership
– Supervision of other co-op staff and contractors
– Respond to all inquiries by both members and non-members
– Ensure that all rent-Geared- to-income (RGI) application are processed in accordance with by-law and government regulations
– Ensure Non-profit or Co-op have the resources or access to the resources necessary to achieve their mandates
Skills & Experience& Requirements
– Minimum 2 – 3 years co-operative or non-profit property administrative experience or equivalent experience
– Knowledge of co-op housing governance and building maintenance
– Must be able to work independently and multitask
– Effective English oral and written communication skills
– Able to work effectively within a diverse community
– Experience working with volunteers and a board of directors
– Financially literate with strong property management skills
– Knowledge about federally funded co-operatives and the laws that apply to housing co-ops
– Experience managing and supervising staff/contractors
– Community development
– Proficient with Microsoft Office
– Experience liaising with the Agency for Co-op Housing, CMHC, CHF Canada and CHFT is desired
– Must agree to a Police Check
Some travel and evening work may be required.
