Part-Time Nanny for Toddler and Light Housekeeping in Stittsvill

This is a part-time, live-out nanny position primarily focused on providing care for our infant. Our little one is sleep-trained and follows a consistent schedule that we’d like to maintain. We are looking for someone who is patient, understanding, and enthusiastic about participating in our baby’s development. The ideal candidate will also be comfortable with light housekeeping tasks and meal prepping, helping to maintain a tidy and organized home environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Toddler Care:
– Provide attentive, nurturing care for our toddler, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
– Follow the established sleep and feeding schedule, including putting the baby down for naps and feeding as directed.
– Engage in age-appropriate activities
– Change diapers, bathe the baby, and assist with dressing.
– Take the baby on small outings to the park or nearby areas for fresh air and stimulation.
– Assist with bottle preparation and cleaning

2. Light Housekeeping:
– Keep the baby’s nursery and play areas clean, organized, and well-stocked.
– Assist with laundry, particularly the baby’s clothing, linens, and blankets.
– Help with general tidying up around the house, such as washing dishes, wiping down surfaces, and ensuring common areas are tidy.
– Take care of basic household chores as needed, helping to maintain a pleasant and clean environment.

3. Meal Preparation:
– Assist with preparing nutritious meals and snacks for the baby
– Help with meal prep for the family
– Clean up after meals, including washing dishes and sanitizing food preparation areas.

4. Pet Care:
– While primary care will be for the infant, we have a small dog that is an important part of our family. The nanny should be comfortable around dogs and may occasionally assist with letting the dog out into the yard or providing companionship if the parents are occupied.

Qualifications:
– Proven experience as a nanny or in a similar role, particularly with infants.
– Strong understanding of infant development and the ability to follow a consistent schedule.
– A warm, nurturing, and patient personality, with a genuine love for children.
– Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in partnership with parents who work from home.
– Ability to perform light housekeeping duties efficiently.
– Basic cooking skills, with an understanding of nutritional needs for both infants and adults.
– Pet-friendly, with a comfort level around small dogs.
– CPR and First Aid certification (infant-specific preferred).
– A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for any outings or errands.
– Flexibility in scheduling, with availability during the week for part-time hours.
– Non-smoker and drug-free.

Preferred Qualifications:
– Early childhood education or childcare certification.
– Experience working with sleep-trained infants.
– Familiarity with meal planning and preparation for young children.
– Ability to create engaging, developmentally appropriate activities for an infant.
– Prior experience in a household with pets.

Work Environment:
– The nanny will work in a home-based setting where both parents are present and working from home. The ability to maintain professionalism and respect boundaries in this environment is essential.
– The role may include occasional outdoor activities, such as walks to the park or outdoor play.
– The nanny will need to be adaptable, as both parents’ schedules can vary, and occasional additional hours may be requested.
