Part Time Contract CFO

Position
Kolk Farms Conrich Ltd is a grain/oilseeds/pulse crop farm, with an office located in Picture Butte, Alberta. KFCL is looking for a part-time contract CFO for quarterly reporting and Year Ends for all related companies. An accounting degree with a CPA designation is a requirement. Familiarity with AgExpert Analyst is an advantage, but not required. Management will work with the controller to assist in training and orientation of the present businesses.

Timely Activities
– Prepare quarterly P&L statements w/ up to date: Balance sheets, Income/Expense, inventories, A/R, A/P (for shareholder review).
– Prepare AgriInvest documents by September 30.
– Prepare T4s and T5s by each deadline.
– Prepare financial Year Ends for all related companies.
– Work with managers to develop budgets and report when requested.
– Work w/ managers to develop annual business projections needed for bank funding.
– Familiarity w/ bank covenants and corporations’ bank obligations.
– Attend shareholders meetings (2-3/year) and distribute financials and necessary reports in advance, usually after year end and around 3rd quarter.

Summary of hours
– KFCL about 130 hours spread over the year, from one year end to the next.
– 6 smaller companies are 6-10 hours per company per year.
– Flexible schedule based on YE and Quarterly’s completed in a timely fashion.

Remuneration
– Based on accounting experience.
