About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineer based in Oxford, NS. This position reports to the Director of Engineering and Refrigeration and has overall responsibility for providing Electrical Engineering support to the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement cutting-edge electrical systems to elevate our manufacturing processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues to keep our operations running smoothly.
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure peak equipment performance.
  • Lead the installation and commissioning of new electrical systems, coordinating with contractors and ensuring adherence to design specs.
  • Identify and implement electrical system enhancements to boost efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineers, production managers, and technicians to support seamless manufacturing operations.
  • Maintain precise documentation for all electrical systems, including drawings, manuals, and maintenance records.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate project status and findings.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Progress towards or attainment of a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license is required. The ideal applicant must be eligible for membership in Engineers Nova Scotia or APEGNB.
  • Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, EPLAN), PLC programming, and other relevant engineering tools.
  • Knowledge of electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEEE) for manufacturing environments is highly valued.
  • Experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting is advantageous.
  • Hands-on experience in diagnosing and resolving electrical issues in a production environment.
