Responsibilities

What you’ll be doing…

Working in a team environment and reporting to the Academic Chair, School of Business and Creative Industries, you will:

  • Provide a full range of confidential, day-to-day administrative support services to the Academic Chair, with an emphasis on providing superior customer service to all stakeholders.
  • Provide administrative support such as booking meetings and assisting students with questions.
  • Assist the Academic Chair with scheduling, calendar management, supporting faculty, maintaining an online filing system, maintaining program files, as well as general office support as required.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Occupational Experience:

  • The minimum educational qualification for this position is a post-secondary certificate or diploma in Business or Administrative Professional/Office Administration. High school completion with significant years of administrative experience (10) will also be considered.

  • You have a minimum of three years of recent and related occupational experience in a fast-paced office environment.

  • Occupational experience in the following areas would be considered an asset:

    • Managing day-to-day office functions
    • Ordering office supplies
    • Reconciliation of invoices
    • Calendar management (meeting coordination and set-up)
    • Working with data information in Excel and Word
    • Utilizing databases for information manipulation
  • You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, E-mail, SharePoint, etc.

  • You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology, and you are committed to using technology in advancing your work.

  • Experience that includes working with PeopleSoft or a similar Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system would be considered an asset.

  • Experience supporting/coordinating the work functions of a large and complex department would be considered an asset.

  • Experience supporting/providing service to students and prospective students would be considered an asset
