About the Opportunity
Solarbank Corp. has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Construction and Engineering Coordinator, based in Toronto, ON.

In this position, you will coordinate multiple construction projects from initiation to close-out, manage contract submissions, assist site managers and engineers, ensure safety and compliance, and handle procurement and documentation while maintaining cost controls and positive relationships with all stakeholders.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordination of multiple projects throughout all stages to completion and the project close-out process
  • Efficiently manage the Contract Submittals process and review contractor submissions for conformance with the Contract Documents
  • Assist the Construction Site Manager and Construction Engineers
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with policies, regulations, licenses, and plans
  • Maintain and manage plans, specifications, cost, and material estimates, sub-contract, and related reports
  • Maintain accurate cost control plans by entering daily units of completion and processing timecards and material packing slips for payment and cost control updates
  • Maintain all documentation control and filing
  • Coordinate proper procurement of construction materials, ensuring timely delivery and accuracy of purchase orders
  • Expedite progress payment certificates, final payment certificates, and all extra work orders as per the contract
  • Maintain good relationships with owners, contractors, and all internal and external customers

More About You
To qualify, you will need a degree/diploma from a recognized post-secondary program in engineering, construction, or a related field, along with 3 years of experience in construction. Proficiency in AutoCAD, along with a valid full Class G driver’s license is required.

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

  • Experience in project coordination/management
  • Knowledge of safety compliance regulations and commitment to a safe work environment
  • Knowledge of construction methods and processes (equipment, techniques, materials, standards)
  • Must be able to read and understand construction contract documents
  • Ability to coordinate with all disciplines, extract and relay relevant information for complex projects
  • Excellent Microsoft Office Suite and MS Project skills

About the Benefits
In exchange for your hard work and dedication, you will receive a competitive salary of $60,000 to $65,000, negotiable depending on experience, along with a great host of benefits, including:

  • Mileage Reimbursement (if applicable): $0.70/km for the first 5000km and $0.64/km after
