Fleet Operators (AZ Driver)

SUMMARY

Fleet Operators are responsible for moving heavy equipment to and from a construction site, operating equipment (excavators, backhoes etc.) to load/unload equipment, hauling of waste (liquid and solid) or construction debris to a disposal site. Fleet Operators will deliver, remove and haul roll off containers to/from construction sites. Fleet Operators will operate and maintain the companies commercial vehicles. This position may require the fleet operator to operate in congested and/or confined areas. This position will be required to enter/exit the truck several times per day. Drivers may also be required to climb to hook/unhook containers, move items to smooth the load, and to secure tarps/load. This position also requires operating heavy equipment on various sites when float services not required. Fleet Operators are exposed to various weather conditions. The hours and physical demand may vary depending on company work schedule and location of construction sites.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operate truck (roll off, Vac Truck, vehicles, various equipment) in a safe manner in compliance with all local, provincial and federal regulations and company policies.
Provide roll off delivery and removal services to construction sites on assigned route(s).
Maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
Conduct pre-trip/post trip inspections and complete logs.
Maintain and update drivers log sheets.
Professional interaction with internal and external customers.
Complete Waste Manifests.
Ensure proper and valid permits are in commercial vehicles at all times.
Work as Heavy Equipment Operator as required from time to time
Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Valid AZ License with over 3 years of experience and clean CVOR abstract
Ability to read and understand a map.
Ability to perform physical requirements of the job (prolonged physical exertions, including but not limited to sitting, reaching, pushing, pulling, climbing, and lifting).
Excellent truck driving/maneuvering skills.
Ability to drive a truck with a manual transmission.
Ability to operate various-sized heavy equipment.
General knowledge of the mechanics of trucks.
Ability to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays.
Ability to work in all weather conditions.
Good written and verbal communication skills to be able to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers.
