Materials Production Planner

We are seeking a dynamic Production Materials Planner to partner their logistics & supply chain experience with a major Collingwood manufacturer.  Our client is one of the world’s largest, global supplier of automotive safety systems. This Role Offers:

  • $70,000 – $80,000 starting salary

Key Accountability’s:

  • Responsible for all forecasting of orders and ordering required material
  • Following up to ensure timely delivery of orders and anticipate any delays of material orders to produce seatbelt webbing
  • Manages supply chain from current suppliers to facility in a timely manner, without incurring freight premiums
  • Monitors all incoming deliveries, works with suppliers to mitigate any potential issues (strike, weather related delays, supplier chain issues, etc.)
  • Informing suppliers of forecasted orders (how much material and when to deliver)
  • Manages warehouse at Collingwood facility and two other exterior warehouses holding overflow material
  • Ensure materials from external warehouse are delivered on time to Collingwood facility
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure minimum amounts of material on-site at facility in keeping with space constraints

You Offer:

  • Post- secondary completion or applicable training (Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Production Planning, etc)
  • 4 years’ experience in a similar role in manufacturing (automotive preferred) 
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with MS Office (Excel)
  • Strong proficiency various software programs (JD Edwards, Crystal Reports, EDI/MRP systems)
  • A commitment to continuous improvement, streamlining of processes, creating efficiencies
  • Sense or urgency, forecasting, proactivity
  • Advanced communication skills (verbal, written)
  • Strong negotiation, persuasiveness skills
