Farm mechanic / equipment manager

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Mechanic with a Class 1A driver’s license and a strong background in farming to join our team. As an experienced mechanic, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our farm equipment and vehicles, keeping them in excellent working condition during the busy planting and harvesting seasons. Farming background will be important experience for performing day to day duties and equipment operation.

Key Responsibilities:
– Perform routine maintenance and repairs on tractors, combines, trucks, and other farm machinery.
– Leverage your farming experience to understand the unique demands of our equipment and ensure they meet those requirements.
– Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
– Conduct preventative maintenance to extend the lifespan of our equipment.
– Order parts and shop supplies as needed.
– Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
– Collaborate with the farm team to ensure equipment is ready for planting and harvest seasons.
– Maintain a clean and organized workshop area.
– Adhere to safety protocols and promote a culture of safety on the farm.
– Maintain infrastructures and outbuildings and handling systems

Qualifications:
– Proven experience as a mechanic with a strong background in farming
– Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
– Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment.
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
– Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
– A valid Class 1A driver’s license with a clean driving record.
– Strong communication skills.
– Willingness to work extended hours during peak seasons.
