Overview:
Join our team as a Truck Driver where you will be responsible for transporting freight, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining vehicle safety. We are seeking a professional driver with expertise in commercial driving and heavy equipment operation.
Responsibilities:
– Transport freight, load and unload cargo, and secure it properly for transportation
– Plan routes and adhere to delivery schedules for on-time deliveries
– Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other drivers using communication devices
– Follow Hours of Service regulations according to industry standards
– Adhere to traffic laws and regulations while operating the vehicle
– Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform minor repairs as needed
– Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections
– Administer bills of lading accurately
– Report any incidents or near misses to management promptly
Requirements:
– Minimum 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience
– Proficiency in English for understanding Canadian road rules and regulations
– Ability to use technology for hours of service tracking
– Knowledge of heavy equipment operation is a plus
– Strong driving skills with a good understanding of traffic laws
– Excellent communication and customer service abilities
– Capacity to work independently and meet delivery deadlines
– Physical stamina for loading/unloading cargo and long hours on the road
– Successful completion of criminal background check, road test, and drug & alcohol test as per DOT requirements
