If you are interested in joining or have passion in joining a team in the area of providing specialized support to young adults exiting the child welfare system please contact myself. Emphasis for this position is assisting clients to build independence with activities of daily living. Some time is also spent on leisure and recreation.

Duties may include but are not limited to;

Collaborating with team members to implement their treatment plans.
Daily living- wake up calls, appointment reminders, medication mgt, meal planning.
Helping clients create and adhere to a budget
Driving clients to school, program, work, social outings, doctors visits, or grocery stores
Teaching clients new skills to gain independence.
Offering emotional support and mentorship
Monitoring and reporting on a clients progress,

SKILLS:
Patience: Community support workers often help clients who struggle to complete specific tasks. Being patient helps team members motivate clients to complete these actions as independently as possible.

Time management: Some team members may have multiple interactions with clients during a shift. This requires practical time-management skills. This helps prioritize their tasks to provide the necessary care to each client.

Communication: Must be able to communicate in English verbally as well as in writing .

Interpersonal: Team members can use their interpersonal skills to form professional client relationships. This can help the client trust the support worker more, so they feel comfortable requesting the support they need.

Empathy: Clients may need emotional support, which team members can provide if they’re empathetic. They can use empathy to connect with their clients and understand how they feel to help them through their daily activities more efficiently.

Problem solving: Support workers typically work independently, so they need proficient problem-solving skills to address issues they may encounter, such as a client choking on their food. They can use these skills to assess the issue and determine the best resolution.
Cleanliness: Able to maintain a clean and tidy work space.

Requirements:
Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry
Valid drivers License, reliable vehicle.

Hours and salary are fair and negotiable. There are no overnights for this position
