Lead Hand and Maintenance Technician

We are actively looking for an experienced Lead Hand and Maintenance Technician to join our Warehouse Operations Team at our grain-handling facility in Broxburn, AB.

Working closely with the onsite manager, as our successful Lead Hand and Maintenance Technician, you will oversee yard operations and be primarily responsible for the following:
– All equipment service and maintenance – both preventative, as well as general repairs
– Organizing and maintaining inventories – gas and diesel supplies, tools, and spare parts
– Inspecting onsite rail tracks on a regular basis to ensure good working order
– Onboarding and training of new and existing employees – equipment training and warehouse procedures
– Identifying opportunities for improved efficiencies and implementing changes as needed
– Hands-on involvement in all areas of the operations when required – loading/unloading trucks and railcars, yard clean-up, etc.
– Providing coverage and direction when the manager is not on site
– Adhering to all safe work practices, procedures, as well as all regulatory requirements
– Bringing a strong sense of ownership to your work, tools, equipment, and work area

Requirements:
– Min 5yrs maintenance experience
– Experience with heavy duty machinery a must – forklifts, tractors, skid steers, conveyors, augers etc.
– Completion of a High School diploma
– A valid Class 5 license
– Fluent in English, both written and spoken
– A positive work attitude
– A strong safety mindset
– Ability to lift 50lbs
– Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
– Working late as required to finish jobs on time
