Job Description:Job Description Under the direction of the General Manager is responsible for performing housekeeping in an efficient and cooperative manner, with due consideration for residents.Background and qualifications:Some housekeeping and or laundry department experience is desirable.Demonstrates ability to maintain effective oral and written communications in English.Requires visual acuity to ensure cleaning and tasks are performed to standards.Must be physically able to perform duties including some heavy lifting and be able to withstand long periods of standing.Knowledge of WHMIS.A person with a positive self projection, nurturing excellent human relations with residents, families, guests, and other team members. A people- person with a heart for seniors and a positive outgoing disposition.Key Responsibilities:Performs daily and weekly cleaning of all resident’s suites and common areas, in accordance with established standards and procedures.Replenishes paper supplies, hand supplies as required in washrooms and laundry rooms.Maintains and housekeeping storage area, cart and equipment.Vacuums all carpet areas except the main floor common areas of the residence. Removes spots and stains from carpets and upholstery and according to established cleaning schedules.Performs additional cleaning as required, including washing walls, lights, vents, fans, appliances, inside windows, doors and frames and patios.maintains an exemplary attendance record.
