Job Description:Job Description The Role The role requires you to provide tax compliance and planning services to a wide range of clients, including corporations, partnerships, and trusts. You will independently and efficiently manage and review tax files and engagements, research tax issues and prepare internal and external memorandums.You will also be responsible for liaising with tax authorities on tax audits and appeals.As a leader, you will be expected to lead complex engagements, manage the business relationship with a focus on high-value, provide quality tax advice, and seek to expand services to clients.You will need to recognize client issues and risk tolerance and provide appropriate firm services.You should demonstrate an understanding of the client’s industry, marketplace, business trends and technical and industry developments, key performance drivers, and have a proven ability to communicate such to the client. You will also be responsible for identifying and resolving accounting and tax issues.You should be able to delegate successfully to all levels of staff and provide guidance and training for staff members to enhance their career development within the firm.You need to foster positive working relationships with client personnel, co-workers, and be responsible for managing client relationships, winning new work, and managing the quality of work completed.You should also mentor and coach other managers and junior staff. What You Will BringQualificationsThe ideal candidate would have completed the CICA In-Depth Tax Course and have a minimum of 5 years of Public Practice experience in the tax specialty.Prior experience in owner-managed private company work is considered an asset.You should have excellent project management, time management, and leadership skills.You should be an innovative thinker, comfortable in a team and client-focused environment, and a self-starter, able to work independently.You must have strong interpersonal, technical, and communication skills, as well as strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and work under pressure.You should have a strong commitment to excellence and attention to detail, be a problem solver with solid analytical skills, and experience in CaseWare/Caseview and TaxPrep would be considered an asset.You should also have experience in a paperless environment, be able to work in a fast-paced environment with changing deadlines.
