Job Description:Job Description Do you have a passion for food? Does fueling a festival workforce sound up your alley? We have just the job for you! We are looking for Cooks to work at our Crew Kitchen! The Crew Kitchen is the heart of the festival workforce. It helps energize and motivate our Crew members. Cooks are responsible for cooking and serving meals to the entire festival workforce. It is the responsibility of this position to ensure quality food service and effective distribution of meals. Perks include meals during work, access to Crew Camping and exclusive Crew-only swag! There are two positions available: Position 1: July 5th-30th. Salary: $3,320.00 Position 2: July 18th-30th. Salary: $1,860.00 Please note that both positions require overnight hours throughout the duration of the festival. Responsibilities Include:Take directions in food preparation from the Kitchen LeaderEnsure compliance with WorkSafe BC and IHA FoodSafe practices at all timesAssist Kitchen Leader in delivering all meals on timeAssure all recipes are being followed, and portion size follows SMF standardsEnsure meals are of the highest possible qualityReport any maintenance issues to the Kitchen Leader Qualifications Include:Foodsafe certification mandatoryExperience working in a kitchen is requiredExperience cooking for crowds, up to 800 on a 24/7 schedule, an assetPrevious festival experience an assetStrong listening skills and able to take directionsExcellent communicator with strong organizational skillsCapable of multi-tasking and prioritizingA committed and self-motivating individualSuperb ability to maintain a level head in stressful situationsFlexible and able to respond to changes in working conditionsComfortable working long shifts and outdoorsSolid understanding of how a kitchen is run and the operation of various equipment To apply, submit your resume & cover letter.
