Job Description:Job Description Parking AmbassadorDepartment: OperationsReports to: Operations Supervisor (Shuttle & Parking), Assistant Guest Services ManagerGeneral Description:In this role you are part of a team that is responsible for monitoring guest safety and traffic flow of our parking lot. Parking Ambassador acts as host, coordinating vehicle arrivals and departures, welcoming park guests and helping them with directions. This is a perfect job to get valuable Guest Service and Operational experience. It is an active, outdoor position that requires working as part of a team to exceed expectations of our guests.General Duties To create experiences that people are amazed byTo smile, make eye contact and welcome every GuestBe knowledgeable about the history and features of Capilano Suspension Bridge ParkUse your mobility to “wow” our Guests by anticipating their needs and going above and beyondProvide product knowledge to all GuestsParking DutiesHelp to achieve specific parking revenue goalsEnsure Guests are able to find parking in a quick and efficient mannerWear a reflective vest while directing vehicles in the parking lots at all timesFollow proper procedures associated with car break ins, and children and animals left unattended in vehiclesEnsure all ticket machines are running effectivelyEnsure that there is always a Team Member available to help guests with ticket paymentAssist with troubleshooting for ticket machines throughout the lotsPreventative SecurityWork with Operations Managers and Supervisors to oversee daily security of the parking lot Work as a team to ensure all guest and team members are safe while walking through parking lot Assist with enforcing all rules and regulations of Guest activity while stationed in the parking lot General OperationsAssist in maintaining cleanliness throughout the propertyRemain committed to the historical theme and Guest service standards of the ParkComply with “Capilano Standards” for inventory and waste management, including organic recycling proceduresKeep constant communication with and execute any reasonable directive from Operations Management and SupervisorsSafety ResponsibilitiesTake reasonable care to protect your own, co-workers and Guests’ health and safetyKnow and follow all Capilano’s health and safety policies and proceduresAsk for further training before taking on any task that you are unsure of or have not been trained onCooperate with the JOHS Committee and any person carrying out Occupational Health and Safety dutiesUse protective clothing, devices and equipment provided and find out what protective equipment is required for each taskEnsure your ability to work without risk to your health and safety or any other person’s safety is not impaired by alcohol, drugs or other causesBe alert to hazards and immediately report hazards, defective equipment or concerns to your Supervisor.Qualifications:One (1) year of Guest service experience in the tourism industryWork effectively under pressure and adapt to change in a fast-paced environmentAbility to handle high volumes of vehicle traffic and guest-related interactions with professionalism,Positive, proactive, and energetic personality,Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,Desire to grow a career within tourism industry, an asset,Second language is an asset.Working Conditions:Able to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays, to meet the needs of the businessWhile performing the duties of this position, Team Members are required to be on their feet for extended periods of timeAbility to work with outside with varying weather conditions (ex. extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, snow),Occasionally required to lift and carry up to 25lbsOccasionally required to lift and climb a step ladder or step stoolWage: $18/hr Powered by JazzHR 2w4CAC7yhs
