Help Wanted: Pastry Chef


Job description
Looking for a part-time pastry chef. Early morning shifts (7am-11am). Monday – Friday. Call 416-841-7533 for more info.
Key Responsibilities:
● Creating pastries, cakes, baked goods, sauces and confections by following a set recipe or an approved recipe.
● Actively participate in the development and creation of new seasonally inspired dishes.
● Decorating pastries and desserts to ensure a beautiful and tasteful presentation.
● Work with a variety of kitchen equipment. i.e ovens, stand mixers, countertop mixers, torches.
● Ensuring the workstation is kept clean and orderly.
● 2 or more years experience working within the food industry in a related role.
● Working knowledge of baking techniques and the pastry-making process
● Food Handlers Certification
● Ability to problem solve creatively and calmly under pressure
● Positive attitude and a hunger for knowledge and growth
● Ability to work in a fast paced environment
● Ability to build and nurture relationships with team members
You must also be able to lift bags up to 50 pounds. Be able to stand for long periods of time.
Be well groomed, punctual and able to meet deadlines.
