Job Information and Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Dean of Arts, Deans designate, or the Senior BA Advisor, the BA Advisor will:
- Provide academic support services for students enrolled in the undergraduate programs delivered by the Faculty of Arts
- Work directly with students, provides administration and analytical support to programs in the Faculty of Arts, engages in outreach activities when appropriate
- Liaise with faculty
- Assist other student support services and departments across campus
- Communicate with perspective, new, and current students about academic programs and services
- Perform other activities related to student advising as assigned by their immediate supervisors
Experience and Education Requirements
To be the successful BA Advisor you will have:
- Undergraduate degree. MA considered an asset.
- Minimum three to five years related professional experience.
- Highly developed oral and written communication skills.
- Experience teaching/mentoring adults and making presentations.
- Professional judgment and discretion. Strong analytical skills.
- Demonstrated skill in using common office, desktop publishing and communication software (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Net web tools).
