Nanaimo, BC Family Seeking Respite – $25/Hourly

About Us:
We are a caring family seeking a compassionate and reliable Respite/Support Worker to provide support for our 12-year-old son with a mild intellectual disability. Our goal is to ensure he enjoys engaging activities in the community while giving our family some much-needed respite.

Responsibilities:
– Accompany our son to community activities and outings, fostering social interactions and engagement.
– Provide one-on-one support, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience.
– Maintain open communication with the family regarding any observations or concerns.
-Participate in activities with him, ensuring they are fun, interactive, and age-appropriate.

Qualifications (a combination of qualifications and experience will be considered) : 
– Experience working with children, particularly those with diverse needs.
– Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
– Current First Aid and CPR certification.
– Training or experience in crisis intervention.
– Relevant education or certifications in special education or related fields.
– Clean criminal record check.
