Live-In Building Superintendent – MRKT Lofts Ottawa

Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Live-In Superintendent to join our team. The role of the Superintendent is crucial to our operations. They are responsible for the physical upkeep, safety, and well-being of the building, and residents. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, be able to provide a polished and professional customer service and effectively work with colleagues from different departments, as well as a diverse tenant clientele.

Key Responsibilities:
– Be reachable 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for emergencies (fire, leaks, etc)
– Organize the cleaner’s tasks with the building manager every morning
– Make sure the building is always clean
– Send daily & weekly reports/checklists to the building manager and to the director of maintenance
– Clear garbage & recycling bins ensure the garbage & recycling room is clean
– Seasonal maintenance a preparation
– Inspections & Incident reports
– Prompt turnovers of vacant unit
The job responsibilities of a live-in superintendent are not limited to the list above

Qualifications:
– Previous experience in a similar role is an asset
– Must be available to move in to the building
– Handy and know the way around general maintenance
– Experience in plastering, painting, plumbing
– Knowledgeable of building codes and safety standards
– Knowledge & understanding of HVAC system
– Air conditioner repair is an asset
– Be familiar with the equipment and the protocol used when dealing with leaks
– Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
– Good judgement, problem-solving skills & attention to details
– Excellent communication and customer service skills
– MS outlook proficiency
