Scaffolder

The Scaffolder is responsible for constructing, erecting, and dismantling Scaffolder structures in a safe and quality manner.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Interpreting blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine the types of materials and equipment to use and plan the required tasks
  • Knowledge of construction terminology.
  • Read and understand the work permits.
  • Basic rigging knowledge
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work environment and maintains housekeeping of job site.
  • Returns all tools and materials used by the crew to the proper place at the end of shift.
  • Must fully participate in the safety assessment of the job and completion of JSA’s.
  • Fully participate in health, safety, quality and environmental processes.

Qualifications

  • Capable to climb and erect scaffold at heights of up to 160 feet
  • Journeyperson Red Seal Ticket and Apprentices are welcomed
  • Valid Confined Space, Fall Arrest, Powerline Hazard and WHMIS certificates
  • Ability to adhere to company safety policies and procedures
  • Working at heights and confined spaces
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills

Physical Demands

  • Regularly lifts/moves object up to 25 lbs. Occasionally lifts/moves >50lbs. Push/Pulling forces up to 50lbs are required.
  • Work repetitively involves reaching/stretching, bending and twisting; regular standing, walking and climbing.
  • Use of gross and fine motor skills; constant use of hand tools that require accurate control and steadiness and maintaining physical balance (e.g.ladders/scaffolding).
  • Work environments can present exposure to loud noises or environmental hazards.

Complimentary company shuttle from Refinery to St. John’s and back daily
